Everything I’m Packing for KBIS 2026
What is KBIS?
Honestly, I may be the wrong person to tell you because I haven’t been yet… But from what I gather, the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show is a trade event for builders, vendors and designers in the Kitchen and Bath field. Vendors gather in one spot to showcase their products like hardware, countertops, plumbing, (maybe even new technology?) and trade professionals, like yours truly, get to come see, feel and get first-hand demonstrations. It’s two days of learning and being inspired and I am soooo excited!
What to pack?
Because it will be a lot of walking, I will want comfortable shoes and outfits that aren’t too fussy. Because it will be a networking event and there will be lots of pictures taken, I want to look nice. And, because it will be Florida but also inside, I will probably want layers.
First Thing First is the shoes! I have two favorite sneakers: Nike Cortez and these suede and knit tennies I found at a discount store. Both will be packed and rotated every other day of the trip.
For the plane rides there and back, I’ll be wearing these pants. Fingers crossed that they stay clean, since I’m planning on re-wearing them…
I’ll be pairing those pants with my newest sweater. Yes, it is men’s and I’m wearing an XS.
I will also be packing my favorite straight leg jeans to wear with this cashmere polo one event day and a t-shirt for a park day.
I’m a sucker for a jumpsuit, so I’ll wear a linen one I bought for my trip to Italy last year, and I’ll pair it with my favorite layering mock-neck (also, a top seller!).
I’m also bringing my favorite black travel coat (open pockets=easy for security) and a light wind-breaker in case it rains.
For travel make-up I usually keep it simple and opt for eyeshadow sticks, and concealer if needed. (For vacation, I prefer to have false lashes on, so I don’t pack mascara.) I may pack this powder since it may be a little more humid than I am used to.
For my skincare, I will bring travel sizes of all my usual products like my cleanser and moisturizer, and I will for sure be packing my new favorite floss!
For hair, I plan on using the blow dryer at the hotel, debating whether or not to bring a round brush, and will probably pack both my curling iron and my straighter. I am not one of those lucky people that curl my hair with my straighter. I can do waves or even crimps, but if I want actual curls, I need a curling iron.
Other essentials include pajamas, underwear and socks; I will of course need a portable charger, snacks, and a book for the flights. I will also my pack my favorite traveling water bottle because it is super skinny, not very heavy, and most importantly: doesn’t leak!
What’s coming back?
That should be it for what I’m packing there, but I may be packing a few extra things back! All trade shows love giving out samples, so depending on what’s up for grabs, I may have a few extras to pack in my suitcase. Plus, I will be going to Universal Studios one of the days I’m there (when in Rome Orlando!) so I may have souvenirs, too.
